: There was the time that some of Deck Dept.
:took "Oscar" the man overbard dummie up to the
:signal bridge. It was one of those nights where
:the moon is brite and it's almost daylight. The
:OOD and Conning officer were just looking out
:the windows when Oscar came from above passing
:right in front of the bridge windows dressed in
:dungarees. As he hit the main deck, a seaman
:ran outta the wind tunnel and grabbed oscar
:before he could be seen by the OOD. It was a
:scream lemme tell ya. I was on the bridge team
:that night. I can't remember the OOD's name but
:he was freaked out. He called out, "Oh shit,
:was that someone?" He opened one of the windows
:and looked down. By then the dummie was gone
:from the main deck and on his way back to the
:deck dept. gear locker. The conning officer did
:not see it and the rest of the bridge team was
:in on it so we all denied seeing anything. I'm
:sure he was scarred for life behind that one.
